What is the best method for following treatment response?
- ALT levels most accessible and least expensive.
- Spontaneous fluctuations within course of the infection common.
- Questionable correlation with HCV RNA levels and histological response.
- Is it worth the cost of serial RNA measurements and/or the risk of multiple biopsies to have potentially more accurate measures of response?
