- Pts treated with 3 MU for 18 months were more likely to have biochemical and histological improvement both at 18 months and 2 yrs after treatment over those treated with a lower dose or shorter duration.
- “Serum ALT responses were significantly associated with histological improvement, but we do not believe this association was strong enough to justify its use in clinical practice….We believe a repeated liver biopsy is required to assess the efficacy of treatment with interferon.”
