- NNT with 5 MU vs. 3 MU for 6 months to achieve one more short-term or long-term response = 33.
- IFN dose had no significant effect on histological improvement.
- There was no significant difference in adverse events/drop outs in 3 MU group vs. 5 MU group.
A 6 month course of therapy with 5 MU IFN did not improve short or longer-term biochemical or histological responses over treatment with 3 MU.
